Calm clarity for a confusing change.
Making Tax Digital is the biggest change to how sole traders and landlords deal with HMRC in decades. Most of what's written about it is either jargon or sales. We wanted something plainer.
What we do
MTD Match is an independent UK business, part of Highfold Group Ltd. We build free tools (a checker built on HMRC's thresholds and exemptions, a deadline calendar, reminders) plus a spreadsheet kit for people who'd rather keep their records in Excel. If you'd like someone to handle it for you, we'll introduce you to one local accountant.
We also keep an eye on GOV.UK for you: every day we check the MTD pages our tools and guides are built on, and update them when HMRC changes something.
Our promises
- Sourced and dated. Every rule we quote links to the GOV.UK page it comes from, with the date we last checked it.
- Never scary. MTD is manageable. We explain it calmly and tell you what actually matters.
- Honest about what we are. We're not HMRC, not tax advisers and not filing software. We give information and tools, and point you to HMRC's own software finder.
- Your data, your say. The checker is anonymous. We only share your details with an accountant if you ask us to, with one practice only, and you can withdraw at any time. If we tell firms near you about your request while we look, they never see your name or contact details.
How we make money
From the spreadsheet kit, and from accountancy practices, who pay for the enquiries they take (a firm's first one is free). You never pay to be introduced. We don't sell your details, only the one practice that takes your request gets them, and we don't show adverts.
